In 1986, Joanne Cochran, Keystone’s President and CEO, co-founded the center to provide healthcare to the migrant farmworkers in Franklin County. At that time Keystone was comprised of three volunteers providing part-time seasonal healthcare to migrant farmworkers in Franklin County and saw 500 patients during its first season.
Today, Keystone Health has more than 470 employees and sees more than 50,600 different patients annually for about 213,575 visits. Keystone provides family, dental, internal medicine, infectious disease, women’s care, pediatrics, urgent care, behavioral health, pediatric occupational health, audiology, speech, outreach and pharmacy services (including 340b prescription program) while continuing to ensure services are provided to migrant workers in Pennsylvania. Bilingual staff and use of a language-line service ensure good communication with our patients.
The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has recognized Keystone Health as a level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) for using evidence-based, patient-centered processes that focus on highly coordinated care and long‐term, participative relationships.
Keystone Pediatrics, Keystone Internal Medicine, Keystone Family Medicine and Keystone HIV/STD Services are all recognized as NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home sites.
