Employer's Frequently Asked Questions
Don't see the answer to your question here? Contact Judd Mellinger-Blouch or Denise Bordner for assistance.
Q: Is the Pennsylvania Primary Care Career Center a third-party recruiting firm?
A: No not really. Our main function is as a job posting and referral service for facilities caring for underserved populations. So, while we do recruit candidates, our main role is as a referral source.
Q. What is the charge for your services?
A: Members of the Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers (PACHC) do not have to pay for our services. For other employers, our rates vary depending on the size and type of the organization. Check out our job posting price list.
Q. What kinds of clinicians can you help us find?
A: We specialize in primary care clinicians. We believe primary care includes dental and behavioral health in addition to medical care. So, our primary care clinicians include physicians, dentists, nurse practitioner, physician assistants, LCSWs, and a wide variety of other professions.
Q. What do you do for employers?
A. Our main tasks are: post jobs and get them as much exposure as possible; forward interested candidates to employers for them to consider, interview and hire. But we also do a variety of other functions such as education for our members, coaching on recruiting, assisting with credentialing, and advocating for primary care facilities.
Q. If I am not a Community Health Center, can I use the services of the Pennsylvania Primary Care Career Center?
A. Yes, but you will have to pay our fee if you are not a member of PACHC.
Q. What outside services do you use?
A. The Career Center is a member of the National Rural Recruitment and Retention Network (3RNet). We also post jobs on PracticeLink, CareerMD and Indeed.com, and we use social media extensively.
Q. Do you ever recommend third-party recruiting firms?
A. We we refer our members to Enterprise Medical Services and B.E.L. and Associates. They were chosen by our Workforce Committee after a vetting process in 2015.
Q. How do I post a job with the Career Center?
A. The best way to post your job is to use our job posting form. But you can also send the job to Denise Bordner, Recruitment Coordinator. Denise will reach out to you to update the job postingas necessary.
Q. How long does it take to hear back about candidates?
A. After you post a job with us, you should receive candidates within a few days. If, by chance, we do not have any candidates who fit your needs, we’ll let you know right away. You’ll receive additional candidates as they express interest or register with us or 3RNet.
